PROCESS
>YOUR PARTNER EVERY STEP OF THE WAY
>SYSTEMS BUILT FOR YOUR TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

The HAAGEN Custom Build Division is a separate project-based organization within the overall HAAGEN team. It delivers unique, tailor-made solutions by bringing together experts from across professional disciplines with a variety of skills, and focusing them on a single project goal. HAAGEN’s project-based approach follows a fixed process divided into several phases. This ensures the quality of the end result while at the same time providing enough flexibility to allow for the implementation of changes, even during the course of the project, thus improving the final result.

STEP 1: Project-based approach

Preparing a list of wishes and requirements

Our consultants meet with you to prepare a list of your wishes and requirements. The actual instructors and end-users may also take part in this discussion.
Items covered include:
- your learning goals;
- the scenarios you wish to train on;
- local needs assessment;
- your specific working conditions;
- the number of users who will use the training facility;
- the location;
- your wishes with regard to operating the facility;
- the budget

STEP 2: Initial Proposal

Based on the results of our initial survey discussion (or discussions), we prepare a preliminary proposal. This proposal takes your wishes into account as well as safety requirements and other conditions related to location, target group and budget. We then discuss this proposal with you and, if necessary, introduce changes. In this design phase, several proposals are often prepared and discussed in order to reach a final result that is satisfactory to you as well as HAAGEN. This is also why each and every training project is truly unique and tailored to your specific situation.

STEP 3: From proposal to detailed design (engineering)

The definitive proposal is then converted into a set of detailed drawings which precisely describe all parts of the installation. Our engineers have years of experience in this specialised work. The key areas of design include safety, realism, durability, ease of maintenance and ease of operation. At the same time, our software developers are busy working on designs for the control system of the training unit. Before being implemented, these designs are presented to you for approval. This ensures your ongoing involvement in the project and compliance with all your specifications and requirements.

STEP 4: Building and installing the facility

Based on the specifications, our specialists then start building and testing the various components of the training unit, including the fires, control boxes and software programs. After these components have been fully tested and approved, they are assembled and installed to create the final product. Of course, the entire facility is then also subjected to a thorough testing procedure and, if desired, can also be certified by a notified body.

STEP 5: Delivery and instruction

In the final stage of the building process, we agree on a planning schedule for delivery and training. We organize “train the trainer” meetings for the instructors, conduct review sessions focused on maintenance, and develop a service contract with you. We place a great deal of importance on a careful and well-executed delivery program for you as the end-user.

STEP 6: Service and maintenance

After you start using your Custom Build training system, you can of course continue to call on us whenever necessary. We offer our clients access to a telephone helpdesk. In most cases, our helpdesk consultants can “get a look at your system” by going online using the system software, thereby remotely diagnosing your situation. We are able to schedule a service engineer to visit your site and, in the meantime can continue to assist you online in an effort to resolve any problems. HAAGEN has an international network of service engineers available to you. These specialists are well-trained in all the disciplines needed to properly maintain your installation and, when necessary, provide system fixes. In other words, you will not be visited by a series of different engineers to carry out different activities related to the supply of gas or electricity or mechanical engineering issues. Instead, our service engineers are qualified in all these areas and can service and, when necessary, repair your installation from the smallest components to the largest training units.
