HAAGEN’s Custom Build Division provides fire and safety training systems that are designed to address the specific training requirements of each customer. Every training system is a unique project developed in line with the client’s own learning objectives. Custom Build training systems include portable stand-alone fire props and larger mobile trailers, semi-trailers and modified training containers. HAAGEN also has extensive experience in the development of full-scale fixed training facilities including fire training towers, training ships, aircraft simulators, industrial complexes and multi-structure training sites. In fact, HAAGEN has become the world leader in the design and development of multidisciplinary fire training campuses and can work with clients every step of the way from concept to planning to construction.

Our Custom Build units incorporate a number of key characteristics that define the HAAGEN approach to developing training systems.
Customisation
With a Custom Build system, you determine exactly what the training facility will look like and how it will perform. The list of specifications and desired training scenarios are first discussed and prepared together with your instructors and end-users. In the process, you can specify the level of complexity you wish to achieve for each fire scenario and which learning targets you require your trainees to achieve. The installation will then be custom-designed to meet these specifications.
Realism
HAAGEN Custom Build systems are designed to simulate every aspect of a fire or emergency response situation. The surroundings and the interior props are accurate to scale, and the fires are built into objects and appliances that would be found in real life. Our focus on building the most realistic fire training scenarios possible allows trainees to experience the full impact of an emergency situation. Every critical environmental condition that a first responder may face during an emergency can be simulated, including darkness, smoke, lack of air, sound, flames and heat. As a result, trainees come to fully experience the challenging physical and psychological effects both on themselves and on others participating in the exercise. Wherever possible, technical instruments and services such as gas and electrical supplies, ventilation systems, and pilot burners are “hidden” from view using special design elements and technologies.

Our technicians calibrate the safety settings for each module to maximize safety and ensure all training situations are of a consistent and high quality. HAAGEN’s in-house technical support team is completely familiar with all the details of your installation and is on-call to provide the maintenance and service your training requires.
